Dungy satisfied with call. I am not.

Any football fans who saw the Jacksonville - Indianapolis game might have been wondering what was up with some of the officiating. Or not, depending on who you wanted to win.

As a Colts fan, the last minute pass interference call against Keiaho seemed a bit suspect. I can't find a video of it, but if you catch it on SportsCenter or something, it basically looks like an accidental nudge of a wide out by a linebacker. Keiaho's back was to WR Reggie Williams when the contact happened. I know the rule is no contact past five yards, but it wasn't an attempt to bring down the receiver. If I remember correctly the pass didn't even go in that area, or was very obviously a throwaway out of bounds.

Anyway, the Indianapolis Star reports that head coach Tony Dungy got some answers from the NFL.

From the article:

He said he was given an explanation on a final-minute pass interference call on Colts linebacker Freddy Keiaho but that he could provide no further insight.

“That one they said was a good call,” Dungy said. “The rest of them I can’t comment on because you can only comment on the good calls.”

I wonder what that explanation was.

In other football news, a late kudos offering to the NC State Wolfpack for bringing down 15th ranked ECU. Go Pack!
